Orzysz – training workshop

On 23 March 2017 a two-day training workshop began at training grounds of the Land Forces Training Centre in Orzysz, the purpose of which is an introduction the ways of the protection of nature and rules of behaviour in the areas Natura 2000 site to the participants.

We have already carried out 9 workshops and this one is the subsequent. The first day comprises of lectures, presentations and the exchange of experiences – second area of Polygon.

The workshop took place as part of the project LIFE12 NAT/PL/000031 under the name “Comprehensive protection of non-forest natural habitats on military areas in Natura 2000 site” – “Pustynia Błędowska” funded under LIFE+ European Union financial instrument and National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.

The scope of the workshop included:

Principles of protection of Natura 2000 areas,

Methods of active protection of Natura 2000 in military areas,

Protection of dry grasslands (dune grasslands, inland dunes).

In particular, we would like to thank Commander of Land Forces Training Centre in Orzysz and Mrs. Joanna for their help in the organization of this project  and for the precious time they spent with us during the workshop.
